Configuring Auto-Assignment groups

  1. Select Scheduling > Auto-assignment > Auto-Assignment Groups.
  2. Click Create New Entry. The Manage Auto-assignment Group page is displayed.
  3. Click General.
  4. Specify this information:
    Group Name
    The name of the Auto-Assignment group, which is used when selecting the group to generate schedules.
    Group Description
    A text description of the rule group.
    Team(s)
    The team or teams that you want to schedule using Auto-Assignment.
    Note: This field controls the teams that can use this Auto-Assignment group to generate schedules. It does not control the selection of employees to be assigned by a particular Auto-Assignment run, as this is controlled by the filter selection.
    Include sub-teams
    Select to include your team's sub-teams in the Auto-Assignment process.
    Effective Start Date
    The date when the rule group is available. Select a date from the calendar.
    Effective End Date
    The date when the rule group is not available. Select a date from the calendar.
    Is Enabled
    Select to specify that the rule group is ready to use. Clear this check box to make the rule group unavailable for Auto-Assignment.
    Off Shift Type(s)
    Optionally, if you are implementing Auto-Assignment for MVS, you can specify shift types that are treated as days off for this rule group.

    Excluded Leave Time Code
    Specify any leave time codes to be excluded in rule calculations.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Click the Filters tab to configure employee filters. Employee filters determine which employees are scheduled using this Auto-Assignment group.
  7. Optionally, if you are implementing Auto-Assignment for the MVS module, click the Shift Order tab to configure the order that shifts are prioritized.
  8. Optionally, if you are implementing Auto-Assignment for the MVS module, click the Employee Order tab to configure the order that employees are prioritized for shifts.
  9. Optionally, to configure the rules that the Auto-Assignment group uses to create the schedule, click the Rules tab.
  10. If you are implementing Auto-Assignment for the LFSO module, click the Shift Rules tab to define the times and lengths of shifts that can be generated to create a schedule.
  11. If you are implementing Auto-Assignment for the LFSO module, click the Break Rules tab to configure how to add breaks to generated shifts.
  12. Optionally, to define when shifts are considered weekend shifts for the Auto-Assignment group, click the Weekend Definition tab.
