Swipe Sharing and Offline Clocks

This section outlines the limitations of the swipe sharing feature when clocks are offline and not connected to the clock server and WFM. The ability to share swipes will only be available while the clocks are online and connected to the WFM application. To determine if a clock is online or offline, see Viewing the Online/Offline Indicator Icon.

Offline clocks only have access to the swipes stored in the clock's local database.

Break Length Validation

Break length validations will be compromised when employees are using more than one clock to punch in and out. For example, if an employee is required to take a 30 minute break and punches out at 1:00 PM on one clock and then attempts to clock in at 1:15 PM at another clock which is currently offline, the second clock will accept the swipe and will not validate the break length.

Same Minute Violation

With offline clocks, same minute violations where two swipes are entered in the same minute cannot be enforced. Ordinarily, clock swipes (Clock IN or Clock OUT) performed in the same minute are rejected.

Viewing Swipes

If the clock is in offline mode, employees will not be able to view swipes entered on other clocks.
