Clock keypad overview

The 8000 Series keypad layout is similar to a calculator with extra function keys along the bottom of the display. These function keys are used to perform clock punches such as a Meal Start. The labels for the keys are displayed across the bottom of clock's display screen.

Note: The 8200 clock casing provides flat, non-mechanical touch keypad to better withstand wear and tear in locations with heavy traffic or frequent use of chemicals which may otherwise damage a mechanical keypad.

The instructions in this document refer to the keys by name, such as the MEAL ON key. However, since the key labels are configurable, the labels may be different on your clock.

In addition to the function keys (F1 - F4), use the:

  • IN key to clock in.
  • OUT key to clock out.
  • ENT key to confirm an entry or selection.
  • ESC key to clear an entry or exit from a menu, for example, if an error is made while specifying a badge ID, pressing he ESC key will clear the value.
  • Up and Down keys to advance to the previous and next fields or to scroll a list.
  • MENU key to access the System Information and System Configuration menus.
