Clock Punches

This chapter explains the various punches that you can perform on the Clock.

When you perform each clock punch you need to identify yourself. The type of reader head determines how this identification is done:

  • Keypad, by typing your identification number and press the Enter button.
  • Barcode or magnetic stripe card reader, by swiping your card through the card reader to the right of the clock reader’s keypad.
  • Proximity scanner, by swiping your badge or fob near the bottom of the scanner.
  • Finger print reader, by pressing your finger on the reader pad.

For more information on the reader heads, see Clock Reader Heads.

The Clock can be configured so that any of the function buttons can be used to perform any punch. For example, you can use the button labeled F3 to perform job change or docket change punches. The instructions in this document refer to the buttons by function, such as the Punch In button, not the button’s label on the keypad, such as F1 or F3. See your system administrator for details on how the function buttons are configured on your Clock.
