The Keypad

The WB5500 Series Clock keypad layout is similar to a calculator with extra function buttons (such as F1 and F2) along the right and left side which are used to perform clock punches. These buttons can be configured so that they perform any clock punch. For example, you might use the F3 button to perform job change punches or department change punches.

The instructions in this document refer to the buttons by name, such as the Punch In button, not the button’s label on the keypad, such as F1 or F3. For information on how the punch buttons are labeled on your WB5500 Series Clock, see the Button Legend, included with the WB5500 Series Clock. This template can be filled in with the punch buttons and their labels.

Aside from the function buttons, you also need these buttons:

Button Description
Delete or clear button

This button deletes the last number that you have specified. If you make a mistake specifying your ID, press the clear button to delete the incorrect ID numbers.

Enter button

Press Enter when you have finished specifying your ID or to select a menu item.

ESC button

The ESC button is used to exit menus and cancel punches.

For example, if you press the wrong button and start to punch out instead of punch in, press the ESC button to cancel the punch.

Up and down buttons

The up and down buttons are used to scroll up and down.
