Changing Dockets

You perform docket change punches when you are switching dockets. Generally, dockets are used to record piecemeal or incentive-based work. If you work on different assembly lines, use the change docket punch when you are switching from one to another.

Your supervisor will explain when you need to record changing dockets and which docket ID to use for your different dockets.

To change dockets:

  1. Press Docket Change. The clock reader’s light changes to orange and the following message is displayed:

    Change Docket
    Enter ID
  2. Specify your ID, swipe your badge, or scan your proximity badge.
  3. If your WB5500 Series Clock has been setup for fingerprint verification, place your finger on the scanner when prompted. The following message is displayed:

    Change Docket
    Enter Docket ID
  4. Specify the ID of the job to which you want to change. Contact your supervisor if you do not know which ID to use.
  5. Press Enter.

When your punch is successful, the WB5500 Series Clock beeps twice, the light beneath the keypad flashes green, and the message Docket changed followed by the current time is displayed.

When your punch is unsuccessful, the WB5500 Series Clock beeps thee times, the light beneath the keypad flashes red, and one of the following messages is displayed:

    • Invalid ID

The clock reader does not recognize your ID or badge. Try punching again using these tips:

      • Ensure that you are specifying your ID correctly.
      • Ensure that you are swiping your badge properly.

If you receive the same error message, contact your supervisor.

    • Invalid Docket

The clock reader does not recognize the Docket ID. Either you specified the wrong number or no docket exists for that number.

You have not changed dockets. Contact your supervisor.
