Performing System Functions

Maintenance tasks, such as sending or receiving data, synchronizing the time, getting software updates, and other tasks are performed using the system functions in supervisor mode.

To perform system functions:

  1. Enter supervisor mode.
  2. Scroll to System Functions in the supervisor mode menus.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. Press the down arrow to scroll through the system functions until the task you want to perform is displayed. The following tasks are available:
    • Send New Bio Data, exports any new templates to the application. This task is used to export templates when a connection was not available after enrollment.
    • Stop alarm beep, turns off the alarm that sounds when the clock reader has been unable to communicate with the system for six hours. The alarm beeps once every minute.
    • Send clock punches, transmits any unsent clock punches stored on the clock reader to the system.
    • Receive clock data, receives any clock data stored in the system, such as new or updated employee data.
    • View the number of unsent punches, displays the amount of unsent punches stored on the clock reader.
    • View the last successful transaction, displays the details of the last successful transaction, such as a punch in.
    • Synchronize time, sets the clock reader’s time to match the system.
    • Change PIN, sets the system password. This task should only be done by your system administrator.
    • View version information, displays the system version, the clock reader’s update version, and the previously installed update version. The software on the WB5500 Series Clock is updated periodically. The update version refers to the specific update currently installed.
    • Get updates, retrieves any software updates for the clock reader and installs them.
    • Restore last good version, uninstalls the current software update and reverts to the previous version.

    A new option, Restart Clock was added in the 5.0.2.0 release which restarts the clock.

  5. Press Enter to perform the selected system function.
