Clock Punches

This section describes the different punches you can perform with the WB5500 Series Clock.

When you perform each clock punch you need to identify yourself. The type of reader head determines how the actual clock punch is done. The WB5500 comes with a choice punch options:

  • Keypad, on which you type your identification number and press the enter button.
  • Barcode or magnetic stripe card reader, through which you swipe your card through the card reader underneath the clock reader's keypad.
  • Fingerprint scanner, on which you type your ID number with the keypad, press the enter button, and then place your finger on the scanner when prompted.
  • Proximity badge or fob, on which you press your proximity badge or key fob against the scanner.

For more information on the reader heads and how to use them, refer to Reader Heads.

Note: The WB5500 Series Clock can be configured so that any of the function buttons can be used to perform any punch. For example, you might use the button labeled F3 to perform job change punches or docket change punches. The instructions refer to the buttons by function, such as the Punch In button, not the button’s label on the keypad, such as F1 or F3.
Note: For information on how the punch buttons are labeled on your WB5500 Series Clock, refer to the Button Legend, included with the WB5500 Series Clock.
