Running WinSCP

The WinSCP application can be downloaded from http://winscp.net. Download and run the installation package. Follow the on-screen prompts to install WinSCP.

To run WinSCP:

  1. Launch the program.
  2. Specify the clock’s IP address in the Host Name field.
  3. Specify admin in the User Name field.
  4. Specify the admin user’s password in the Password field. By default, this is admin.
  5. Ensure the SCP option is selected for the protocol.
  6. Click Login.
A file browser is displayed with the contents of the admin user’s home directory on the WB5500 in the right pane and the folders of your local system in the left pane.
Common tasks in WinSCP include:
  • Navigating through the files and folders in the same fashion as browsing Windows Explorer.
  • Modifying files by right-clicking on the file and selecting Edit from the menu.
  • Saving files by pressing Ctrl + S. WinSCP transfers saved files to the clock. WinSCP displays a pop-up window that lists the files to be transferred. When this pop-up closes, the file has been transferred.
  • Rebooting the clock, by pressing Ctrl + T and specifying reboot in the console prompt.
