Barcode / magnetic stripe card problems

This table lists potential problems specific to barcode or magnetic stripe card reader versions of the WB5500:

Problem Details and Resolution
The card reader is not reading any barcode or magnetic stripe cards.
  • Ensure the barcode or magnetic stripe on the card is not damaged or faded.
  • Ensure the card is swiped correctly, barcode or magnetic stripe facing away from the keypad.
  • Clean the card reader with cotton swabs and 95% isopropyl alcohol.
  • Remove dust and dirt from the reader slot with a can of compressed air.
