Mass Updates

This section describes the mechanism for updating the files on a large set of clocks. The updates can be sent to specific clock types, specific clocks, or all clocks that are connected to the server.

Using mass updates you can perform two types of updates:

  • Change clock configurations by inserting, deleting, or modifying any setting in the configuration files on the clocks. For example, you can modify the prompt that is displayed on all the clocks when employees punch out.
  • Change any of the files that are stored on the clock by adding or overwriting clock files.

To configure the mass updates mechanism, you must:

  1. Determine which clocks receive the update.
  2. Determine the details of the update.

Additionally, you can write custom scripts to run before or after the file update.
