Creating a business rule

To set up business rules to use for electronic processing, you use the business rule templates in SA Table Code Value Setup-Business Rules to create the business rules in SA Business Rules Setup.

Note:  If you are using EDI Electronic Transaction Control Center Entry (ETCC), you must set up the ETCC-Audit business rule.
  1. Select System Administrator > Setup > Business Rules.
  2. Select New.
  3. Specify a category and a rule.
  4. Specify this information:
    Note: If an element is locked in the business rule template in SA Table Value Setup-Business Rules, you cannot change it.
    • Specify whether the rule is global, for all companies, or company-specific. If it is company-specific, specify the company.
    • For PO Acknowledgments, specify whether the rule applies to a specific vendor and ship from. If so, specify the vendor and ship from.
    • Specify an appropriate Rule Type.
    • Specify an appropriate Rule Value. The value can be yes or no, or any character value, based on the information in the Extended Description section.
  5. Click Save.
