Setting up a Standard Virtual Terminal Bridge

The standard bridge requires the device to be pre-configured in server mode.

Note: These instructions do not cover installation of terminals or scanner devices. Because devices supported by CenPOS are subject to change, consult with your CenPOS representative for more information. Bridge installation instructions are also subject to change. Consult with your CenPOS representative for the most current.
  1. Plug in your scanner device to your terminal.
  2. Access the CenPOS Virtual Terminal login page.
  3. Click Bridge Download.
  4. Click Open to download a zip file containing device drivers, an executable field to install the Virtual Terminal Bridge, and associated documentation.
  5. Double-click VirtualTerminalBridge.exe to install the bridge software.
  6. Select and install the appropriate driver for your scanner device.
  7. Access the CenPOS Virtual Terminal login page.
  8. Click terminals to install the appropriate CenPOS Web browser forms.

    Two sets of forms (encrypted and unencrypted) are downloaded to your computer in the resources folder for your specific device, such as C:\VirtualTerminalBridge\res\<your device>. The system defaults to the dl folder, which contains the encrypted forms.

  9. Optional: If you want to use the unencrypted forms, you must copy those forms to the dl folder and remove the default forms.
  10. Close the CenPOS Virtual Terminal.
  11. To verify your device is working correctly with the Distribution SX.e system, process a test One Time Sale order. When the CenPOS Web browser (the Sale form) is displayed, ensure the Retry card swipe button is displayed. If this button does not display, troubleshoot your setup.
