Changing the order type on a sales order

If the change order type feature is activated, you can change the order type when you are creating a new stock order, counter sale, or quote. Use the change order type feature to automate these manual processes:

  • Converting a quote to an order through the copy function
  • Canceling an order that you entered with the incorrect type and then re-entering the order
  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Create an order with one of these values specified in the Order Type field:
    • Stock Order
    • Counter Sales
    • Quote
  3. Any time before you tender the order, click the Change Order Type button in the Header Information panel.
  4. Select an order type in the Convert To field.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Finish the order.

    If you changed a quote to a counter sale, the counter sale is suspended.
