Working with a product pricing set
Use PD Mass Maintenance Entry to update values in the product pricing sets. You can use these functions to modify multiple rows and columns of data:
- Column Calculator
Use the Column Calculator to create a equation to update multiple integer or decimal fields in the selected records. The equation-building functionality is helpful when the vendor has groups of products with a similar change that can be converted to a equation.
For example, the price of products in a particular rebate group has increased 7.2 percent. To reflect this change, you would enter: price[1] = price[1] * 1.072 in the Column Calculator Wizard.
- Column Override
Use Column Override function to change a field on multiple records to a specific value.
For example, to change the contact number on an entire batch of record, select Contract # from the Column field, and then specify the new contract number in the Value field. When you click , the selected Contract # fields in the worksheet display the new contract number.
- Disable Columns
When you work with multiple columns of information, data entry errors are common. To minimize those errors, you can disable columns in your spreadsheet. If you edit an individual record, this function also disables the corresponding field in the Details section.
For example, you are working on a spreadsheet with 10 columns of information, and 1000 rows of records. You want to manually modify the information in two non-adjacent columns. You can disable the other eight columns to prevent data entry errors and minimize the number of columns you must tab through.
