Options
- Find (P)rod,(R)efer,(A)lt,(W)here Used
- Select one of these four methods for finding a cross reference record:
- (P)roduct by reference
- (R)eference to a product
- (A)lternates for a product
- (W)here used as an alternate
- Print Barcode Products?
- Select Yes to include barcode products. Special bar codes from your manufacturer or supplier can be interchanged with your product numbers. Bar codes are valid for the method selections Product by reference and Reference to a product.
- Print Customer's Products?
- This option allows orders to be placed for customers with their product numbers. An unlimited number of customer's products can be specified with an interchange to your product number. Customer's products are valid for method selections Product by reference and Reference to a product.
- Print Interchange Products?
- Interchanges are those products that provide 100 percent two-way substitution, not just suggested upgrades. 100 percent means that one product would work for the other in 100 percent of the customer's applications. The interchange product is not carried in your inventory but will be the product entered during Sales Order Entry. Interchange products are valid for method selections Product by reference and Reference to a product.
- Print Optional Products?
- Optional products are those complementary items that should be sold along with a regular inventory product. Optional products are valid for method selections Alternates for a product and Where used as an alternate.
- Print Superseded Products?
- Superseded products are those that are not 100 percent interchangeable. They supersede existing products and are interchangeable in most ways. Superseding generally occurs when a product becomes obsolete, is no longer manufactured, and has been replaced with a better product. Superseded products are valid for method selections Alternates for a product and Where used as an alternate.
- Print Substitute Products?
- Substitute products are those that are not 100 percent interchangeable. They are temporary substitutes for existing products that you do not have enough available for sale. Substituted products are valid for method selections Alternates for a product and Where used as an alternate.
- Print Pricing Service Products?
- Automatic pricing numbers are provided to you by a service bureau or product manufacturer that specializes in providing pricing and descriptive product information electronically. Automatic pricing provides you with the ability to maintain competitive, up-to-date price and cost information in your product records. It also helps to reduce paper work and the costs associated with maintaining manual records.
- Print Upgrade Products?
- Upgrade products are generally 100 percent interchangeable with the regular product but also offer more features. Even though it is 100 percent exchangeable, it is a one-way exchange, not two-way. An exchange is usually only made when there is not enough quantity available to fill the order. Upgrade products are valid for method selections Alternates for a product and Where used as an alternate.
- Print Alternate Vendor Products?
- The alternate vendor numbers are informational only for the Purchase Demand Center Entry PO RRARs and the Transfer Demand Center Entry WT RRARs. If you select Yes for the Print Alternate Vendor Products option, the Vendor number range applies here, and all alternate vendors for the products on the report are printed.
