Customer and product pricing records
Customer and product price types for your major groups of customers and products are key elements in your pricing framework.
Product price type
A product price type is a group of products that are priced the same way, such as fittings, pipe, valves, controls, and abrasives. Set up product price types in SA Table Code Value Setup, and then assign them to product records in Product Warehouse Product Setup.
Customer price type
A customer price type is a group of customers with the same pricing characteristics, such as walk-ins, contractors, dealers, or wholesalers. Set up customer price types in SA Table Code Value Setup, and then assign them to customers in Customer Setup to define the customer’s pricing level. Run the PD Customer Pricing Report to print a customer’s price book for a single or range of customer price types.

Multiple customer price and rebate types
To provide multiple customer price and rebate types to select customers, you can assign them in Customer Price Type Setup and Customer Rebate Type Setup. This allows your customers to participate in more than one pricing or rebate program, and receive the lowest price and largest rebate.
In Sales Order Entry, the pricing logic determines system prices and rebates. Prices and rebates are then compared to multiple price or rebate levels in Customer Price Type Setup and Customer Rebate Type Setup. If a lower price exists in one of the multiple levels, it is used in place of the system price. If a higher rebate exists in one of the multiple levels, it is used in place of the system rebate. Settings in SA Administrator Options control how multiple price and rebate levels are applied.
