Price origin code logic
The price origin code denotes the price type and might also include an additional designation that helps you understand how the price was determined. This code appears on all orders regardless of the operator’s security level. The logic for determining the price origin code follows.
- If the line is manually added, the price origin code is based on how the pricing was determined. This applies to optional product lines that are added.
- If the line is for a non-stock item, the origin price code is (O)verridden.
-
If you manually change a line price from the standard pricing calculated, the code is designated as (O)verridden. This includes changing prices using the Pricing Worksheet in the Sales Order Entry-Pricing view in the line item sections.
Note: If you manipulate the price and then use the reset capability, the price origin code is not changed to (O)verridden. - If you add a line and accept a promotional price, the price origin code originates from a promotional record. The price origin code designated is 7P or 8P.
- If you copy an order using the Copy function and you select the Reprice option, the price origin code is based on how the new price was determined.
- If you copy an order using the Copy function and you clear the Reprice option, the price origin code reflects the copy-from order line price origin code.
- If you create order lines using the Returns Multiple Lines function, the price origin code reflects the code from the line selected.
- If you create an order using the add blanket release functionality, the price origin code is the same as the price origin code from the order lines on the -00 blanket order.
- If you use Sales Entry Processing Cancel/Convert Orders Report to create an order when processing a Standing order type, the price origin code for each line is the same as the price origin code on the corresponding line on the ST.
- When order lines are created for a back order, the price origin code on the back ordered line is the same as the line it was back ordered from.
