WL Initialize Warehouse Administration overview
Function acronym: WLAI
Use this page to move table value records, additional product data, and product cross-references from the system to TWL.
After you have established your TWL system, facility, and personnel records, you can begin creating location and product records. Product and location setups will be your most time consuming pre-live activities because of the volume of records that you must create. You can create most of the records for a TWL warehouse months ahead of your scheduled live date.
Before you can use this function, specify the WL Locations in SA Administrator Options-Logistics-WL Locations. Then, assign the WL Location to the Product Warehouse Description Setup-General-Settings record. Your business consultant can assist you with this during your TWL installation. When you set the WL Live field to Yes, you can initiate the master file setup interfaces from WL Initialize Warehouse Administration to update TWL.
In a pre-live environment, you can:
- Download Product Warehouse Description Setup descriptions to the TWL Configuration-Warehouse record.
- Transmit these records:
- Product Setup
- Product Warehouse Product Setup
- Product UPC Information Setup
- Product Extended Warehouse Cross Reference Setup
- Vendor Setup
- Vendor Ship From Setup
- Transmit these codes:
- SA Table Code Value Setup-Return/Adjust Reason
- SA Table Code Value Setup-Reason Unavailable
If you are downloading these records in batches, set the WL Live option to Yes while no other processing is occurring. For example, on the weekend or after business hours. After the data transmission is complete, change the WL Live option to No to allow for normal system processing functions.
About the WL Transaction Summary Report
If you are creating a large number of records, WL Transaction Inquiry may time out if you have not set limiting filters. The WL Transaction Summary Report provides a summary of all WL transaction records based on warehouse and date for the WL Transaction Inquiry record counts. When you review the report, you can then be more precise in your WL Transaction Inquiry advanced search filters.
When you click WL Initialize Warehouse Administration to begin initializing the warehouse, a message is displayed: Processing has been set to run in the background. You will now be taken to the WL Transaction Summary Report which can be executed to monitor the status of this initial load of data. Canceling here does not stop processing. When you click , you are redirected to the Reports Main page, where you can begin a One Time report setup. You can set a date range [WL Trans Date]. In the options, specify the warehouse. Select Send transactions, Receive transactions, or Both.
