Kit Groups
To add a kit group, select Group in the Entry Type field to display the Group Name field.
As in Sales Order Entry, when you are adding a kit group to a kit, you cannot associate a unit with the group. You can specify only the quantity needed to build the Value Add. To determine the line's total product quantity, the Quantity Needed for the Value Add is multiplied by the Quantity Needed value in Kit Group Setup . The Quantity Needed field indicates how many of each group are needed. The Quantity Needed field in Kit Group Setup indicates how many of that product are used in one group. Thus, the total quantity on the VA section line is derived by multiplying the two Quantity Needed values together. For example, if each VA product requires 2.00 groups and the group includes 3.00 of a product, the line's total quantity ordered is 6.00.
The changes to this window apply when an Inventory In (II) section is accessed in VA Receipt of Inventory Entry and Purchase Receipt of Inventory Entry. Use caution when entering a group at receiving because not all items in the group may be returned as surplus from the fabrication process. When a group is entered during receiving, lines are created on the II section for each product in the group.
