SA Table Code Value Setup - Unit Conversion overview
Use this page to create and maintain unit conversions to sell, buy, or count products in units that are different than the stocking unit. When a product is sold, bought, or counted, the unit conversion is used to calculate the prices and costs.
On this page, you can set up unit conversions for units of measure that are not product specific such as dozen, hundred, or pair.
All units of measure that are set up on this page can be used on all products during sales order entry. If a unit of measure has a different number of units for two products, set up two separate unit conversion records. For example, a case might have 12 or 24 units. The value should be descriptive enough to determine the number of units, such as cs24 and cs12. Appending the quantity of the conversion to the end of the value description helps to determine the correct conversion to use.
You can set up product-specific units of measure in Product Extended Unit Conversion Setup. Examples of product-specific units of measure might be case, box, carton. Product-specific units of measure override standard units of measure.
