SA Printer Setup - Settings overview
Use this page to define printer settings and label information for Integrated Barcode and cartonization.
Settings
The Initialization, Close, Compressed, and Normal fields must contain strings of decimal codes used by the system for proper utilization of the printer or device. The decimal strings must be obtained from the individual device’s operating manuals. All of the strings may not be required. The most common strings are for compressed print and normal print. Contact your Infor Support representative for assistance to determine values for these fields.
Label Format
You can indicate if the printer prints small or large labels. Optionally, you can specify an alternate printer. The alternate printer should print labels that are the opposite size of the label that you selected for this printer. For example, if you selected small labels for the printer that you are setting up, your alternate printer should print large labels.
In CloudSuite Distribution, you can set up a printer to output labels using Infor Document Management (IDM) or Enterprise Printing Platform (EPP). In on-premises Distribution SX.e, you must use Enterprise Printing Platform. By default, the fields for EPP output are displayed in the Barcode Label Formats and Cartonization sections. If a printer is configured to use the IDM Enterprise Printing service, you can print barcode labels using templates that are stored in IDM. Select IDM Format to display the IDM label fields that are required to set up a printer to output labels using IDM.
Whether you use EPP or IDM, the label format from the printer record is merged with information from the system when the label is printed
For more information about printing barcode labels using EPP, see the Infor Distribution SX.e Integration Guide for Enterprise Printing Platform and Enterprise Printing Platform documentation.
For more information about printing barcode labels using IDM, see the Infor CloudSuite Distribution Configuration Guide.
Barcode Label Formats and Cartonization
You can indicate if the printer prints small or large labels. If you use EPP, specify the label format to print for each label type. You can run the SA Default Label Retrieval Report to obtain the default label formats. You can customize each label format.
If you selected IDM Format in the Label format section, the standard label template and standard fields for each label are listed. If custom label templates were created for the labels, you can override the default values.
