SA Sales Use Tax Setup - General overview
Use this page to define all state, county, city, and other tax jurisdiction tax rates.
Tax records must be defined for each jurisdiction in which you are required to collect, report, and pay taxes. The records you set up here are used to calculate taxes in Sales Order Entry when sales orders are entered. They are also used to set up customer records (accounts receivable), or warehouse records in Product Warehouse Description Setup-Taxing.
Set up a tax record for each state in which you conduct business and collect or pay any type of tax such as sales, use, or excise. Set up a separate record for each county, city, and other local jurisdiction within the state. Each tax record consists of several layers of taxes. This table provides examples of those layers:
