SA Audit Processing Administration overview

System Administrator > Administration > Audit Processing

Function acronym: SAAAU

Use the SA Audit Processing Administration function to choose the database tables and fields to audit, and to monitor the records in the DLQUEUE table.

Note: You must have a security level of at least 2 for Audit System in SA Operator Setup-Function Security to access SA Audit Processing Administration or the Audit System window. Function security level 5 is required to delete a DLQUEUE table record.

Monitoring and managing the records in the DLQUEUE table

When you select Replicate to Data LakeSA Administrator Options-System-Options, new, changed, or deleted data in tables that are selected for audit in SA Audit Processing Administration are sent to Data Lake through ION.

When you run SA Data Extraction for Data Lake and Birst to extract tables to the Data Lake, the tables populate the DLQUEUE table before the data connector picks them up in ION Messaging Service (IMS) and sends them to Data Lake.

Auditing

After you select tables to audit, you can generate the dictionary and triggers. Following that, you must install the dictionary and triggers using your Progress Database Administrator.

After setting up your system, use the Audit System to set up the inquiry specifications for each table and select the fields you want to audit. The results display on the inquiry's browser.

Be conservative when selecting the fields you want to audit. Creating audit records increases the size of your database, and selecting many fields could affect system performance.
