Purchase Order Inquiry overview

Purchase > Inquiry > Purchase Order

Function acronym: POIP

Use this function to view detailed information about purchase order header line items, totals, and history. If you know the purchase order number, specify it in the Purchase Order # field, and then click Search. If you do not know the PO number, click the Lookup icon to perform a search using additional information. You can also conduct an Advanced Search

When a purchase order has been corrected in Purchase Receipt of Inventory Entry, an indicator displays "Corrected" under the PO # field in the grid. This purchase order reflects the original line and amounts that were received. A purchase order suffix that is created as a correction to another purchase order, displays "Receipt Correction". The line detail for these orders also reflects if that line has been corrected.

Drill down on a purchase order in the grid to access different views to see detail about line history, line detail, and pricing. You can also confirm the products that have been entered on a purchase order, the quantity ordered, the quantity received, or the quantity invoiced. The View Costs option in SA Operator Setup must be selected for costs, prices, and net amounts to be displayed. You can create and view notes from any Purchase Order Inquiry view using the Notes context app.

Purchase Orders grid

By default, these grid columns are hidden:

  • Total Invoice Amount
  • Total Invoice Amount Anticipated
  • Total Quantity Received Anticipated
  • Total Received Amount
  • Total Received Amount Anticipated

You can use personalization to unhide them. Additionally, you can use extensions to add color to grid columns. For example, highlight the columns that show anticipated values.
