Sales Order Entry - Taxes & Totals - Discounts overview

Use this page to view and specify discounts. You can provide a whole order discount, in addition to any line item or term discounts. The order discount percentages are calculated from the line item totals.

Whole order discount are typically used as an incentive. Discounts are set up in PD Whole Order Discount Setup or PD Special Price Type Discount Setup. Customer service representatives can use this Discounts page to calculate and offer customers discounts during order entry.

When a PD Whole Order Discount Setup record exists and a portion of the order is back ordered, the percentage of the discount is based on the total quantity ordered not the quantity shipped.

On this page you can perform these actions:

  • Use the Discount Calculator section to calculate one or more discounts. Discounts can be caluculate based on the Total Net Sale or the Gross Margin %, and specify an Amount or a Percentage.
  • Update the order by clicking Submit. The discount is displayed in the Order Discount section. If you edit or create discounts, always click Recalculate in the toolbar on the Sales Order Entry - Taxes & Totals page to update the pertinent fields.
  • Optionally, use the Staging Area to manually indicate a staging area bin location.
