Product Replenishment Setup - Ranking overview
Use this page to set the parameters that are required to perform hits ranking on the Product Administration Inventory Classification and Rank Report as well as define the number of months to use to calculate the long-term surplus amount displayed in Product Availability Inquiry, Purchase Demand Center Entry, and Transfer Demand Center Entry..
Hits ranking is a method of classification of products based on hits. Hits refers to the number of times this product appears on a sales order, warehouse transfer, or lost business transaction. Hits may also be called issues, velocity, or frequency. You can define the number of ranks that you track and the scope for each rank. The scope can be the number of hits or percentage of hits that occur during a set period. For example, select Percentage of Hits and define rank A as 80%. Then, the top 80% of line hits define the products that fall into rank A.
Rank is calculated for a product during Product Administration Inventory Classification and Rank Report. Then Product Warehouse Product Setup is updated with the product’s rank within the company and the warehouse, if these options are selected on the report. Ranking is not performed at the vendor or product line level.
