Product Cross Reference Master List Report overview

Product > Reports > IC Reports > Cross Reference Master List Report

Function acronym: ICREC

The Product Cross Reference Master List Report prints all information contained in the Product Extended Product Cross Reference Setup records.

The cross-reference file is an open ended file of products that cross-reference all interchangeable products to the ones in your inventory. The cross-reference file is especially useful to sales representatives during order entry.

The cross-reference master list is organized similarly to Product Availability Inquiry-Xref. If you are familiar with that inquiry, this report is easy to use.

There are ten cross-reference types available in Product Extended Product Cross Reference Setup. You can print all of them, print one type, or pick and choose within the allowable limitations. The following table shows you which cross-reference types print depending on the cross reference method you use.
Method Example Type
Product by reference This method generally results in one product being found. The reference you enter in the Product range should be a non-inventory product that crosses to a stocked inventory product.

For example, a customer may request Brand A spark plugs that you do not carry but could be interchanged with Brand B spark plugs contained in your inventory. A legend at the bottom of the report lists the various types represented as: b-Barcode; c-Customer product; i-Interchange; t-Auto pricing.

Note: If you are searching using the Product by reference method, specify valid stock products in the Product range. If you are searching using References by product and specify valid stock products in the Product range, the following message is displayed: "No Records Found." References by product require that you specify non-inventory products that are cross-referenced to stocked products. Alternates require that you specify your stock product, while Where Used requires that you specify an alternate product.
