Customer Administration Customer Exemption Export Report overview
Function acronym: ARAE
Use this report to submit updated exempt customer and customer shipto information from Distribution SX.e to CertCapture.
The Customer Administration Customer Exemption Export Report can be run for either Sovos Global Tax Determination (GTD), formerly Taxware Enterprise, or Avalara's AvaTax. The report is used to send customer and shipto information to CertCapture. The report logic checks to determine which tax package you are integrated with based on the Tax Interface value in SA Company Setup-Tax Settings. As the customer number and shipto loaded, the customer ID structure is set to match the formatting required by CertCapture for either GTD or AvaTax.
With the report, you can export customer and customer shipto information from Distribution SX.e to CertCapture. The export ensures the address data exists and matches in both applications. The data includes the customer’s number, name, lookup name, address lines, city, state, ZIP code, phone and fax numbers, email address, and purchasing contact. After the customer record is created in CertCapture, you can add the tax exemption certificate information to that customer record in CertCapture.
CertCapture must have the customer and shipto data, plus their certificate data, before you can create sales orders for your tax exempt customers in Sales Order Entry. Each time you add or modify the information for any customer in Customer Setup-Taxing or Customer ShipTo Setup-Taxing you must run Customer Administration Customer Exemption Export Report to update CertCapture’s database.
The report tracks the date the report was run. The option, Ignore Last Run Date?, allows the report to be run to pick up only those Customer Setup and Customer ShipTo Setup records that have been entered since the last time the report was run. Retain the default setting, No, to send only new records. If you select Yes, all records that meet the range and option values are processed.
The report output includes any error message that is returned from the CertCapture API process. This provides you with troubleshooting information if the data is not successfully sent to CertCapture.
