Tally bundle overview
A random tally contains a mix of predefined components that together equal a specific linear footage. You can set up a random-tally product to require a bundle ID. It enables you to group random tally component lines together, and view the individual components associated with the bundle ID. After the product is set up, you can identify the components of the tally bundle product in KP Tally Mix Setup. This record establishes the default mix of components that is used for the tally bundle product.
You can purchase and receive products that are physically grouped by a unique bundle ID and then resell the bundle as is.
Use Product Extended Tally Bundle Setup to create, modify, delete, or inquire on bundle IDs that are linked to a tally bundle product. Product Tally Bundle Mix Inquiry provides inquiry capabilities for bundle IDs. The Product Tally Bundle Master List Report produces an audit of all additions, changes, and deletions made to bundle IDs. Use Vendor Invoice Center Entry to cost trade invoices and modify tally components. It brings inventory with the receipt cost or match cost, based on the option selected during the update.
You can enter tally bundle products on a customer order and select bundle IDs as needed. If a customer requires specific sizes and quantities, you can enter specific order lines. The material on those order lines must come from loose stock.
Automatic inventory allocation for tallies
To qualify for inventory allocation, tally products and their components must be active or superseded stock products that are not serial- or lot-controlled products, warehouse-managed, or in a Warehouse Logistics warehouse.
A tally component that is no longer delayed changes to a reservation type of Always. When the last tally component is no longer delayed, the tally itself is no longer be delayed and the ship quantity is updated. This essentially force ships the line by making the quantity shipped equal to the quantity ordered.
Because a tally component can be used as a regular product outside of a given tally, there is no restriction on the reservation type assigned. Inventory allocation ignores the Against Receipts and Always reservation types for tally components and does not display an error. A tally component can force a reservation delay, which delays reservation of the tally product itself. When this happens, the tally ship quantity remains zero until the last component is no longer delayed.
