Customer master groups
Use Customer Master Group Setup to group customers having a common thread, then invoke functions collectively upon the group. This feature integrates the group concept into customer/accounts receivable functions and other related tasks. For example, if you have made a customer a member of a group, the system can run standard functionality, such as credit limits, based on the group settings first.
Before you set up and groups, familiarize yourself with the Customer Master Group Setup capabilities. Decide how to use groups, what the groups will be, and who the members of a group will be. Determine how strictly you want to enforce the group settings. For example, do you want to lock down the order status based on credit limits? On all members or individual members?
The currency of a customer must match the currency of the group.
You can assign a group in these functions:
- Customer Administration Service Charge: Assign service charges and rates to a group.
- Customer Cash Receipt Entry: Assign invoice payments to one or more group members.
- Customer Inquiry: View customer information in conjunction with the member’s group information.
- Customer Maintain Transaction Entry: Maintain transactions at the group level.
- Customer Setup: Use the Group field to associate a customer with a group.
The group feature offers flexibility in these accounts receivable-related tasks:
