Entering a lot product on a return merchandise sales order

Use these instructions to enter an order containing lot products when a customer returns items on an invoiced or paid order.

If the customer is returning items on a Counter Sale (CS) or Stock Order (SO), follow the instruction to enter a return on a counter sale or stock order.

If the customer returns the whole order, or a majority of the order, use the Copy function to create a Return Merchandise (RM) order and then make adjustments.

Follow the appropriate instructions if you are returning the core of a core product.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Specify Return Merchandise in the Order Type field.
  3. Complete the required information on the Initiate page, and then click Next.
  4. Select a return adjust reason.
  5. Optionally, specify an invoice number.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In Advance Line Entry mode, specify the lot product and returned quantity.
  8. Click Lots.
  9. Locate the lot number of the returned product, and then specify the returned quantity in the Quantity field.
  10. Click Save when the Quantity to Allocate is 0.
  11. Click Add to add the line to the order.
  12. On the Returns page, specify the Restock Charge, Tax Group, and Warranty Tag #, if required.
  13. Select the Usage option to include the return in usage calculations.
  14. Optionally, specify the invoice number and line number of the product being returned.

    Alternatively, click Find Invoice to view orders that contain the product. Select the invoice, and then click Submit.

    After you specify the invoice and line number, the invoice date and customer purchase order are automatically displayed.

  15. Click Submit.
  16. Finish the order.
