Ordering

Line Point/Maximum

This amount is automatically calculated by BD Administrator Tank Calculations Report. It cannot be manually set. Line Point/Maximum is calculated as:

Order Point/Minimum + Lead Time Demand

Line Point is not calculated for Will Call tanks, as no Delivery Due Date is calculated for this tank type.

Order Point/Minimum
The lowest quantity you should have available for sales and transfers. Order Point/Minimum is calculated by BD Administrator Tank Calculations Report after determining these values:
  • Projected Lead Time: Delivery Due Date - Current Date
  • Lead Time Demand: Daily Usage * Projected Lead Time

Order Point/Minimum = Lead Time Demand + Safety Allowance

Order Point is not calculated for Will Call tanks, as no Delivery Due Date is calculated for this tank type.

Safety Allowance

The safety allowance, also called safety stock, is additional bulk stock that you use as a buffer during calculations to prevent a tank from going empty due to higher than expected daily usage. The safety allowance directly affects the order point. You must manually specify a safety allowance amount or percent. It is not calculated during BD Administrator Tank Calculations Report.

Select a type for the Safety Allowance, either Quantity or Percent.
