International export hold
The International export hold feature provides a way to ensure that sales orders that may be subject to export controls are approved by a qualified reviewer before being processed. Orders on International export hold are prevented from printing on a pick ticket, shipping, and invoice processing.
International export hold is applied to each order being shipped to a country other than the one designated as your country. The country is designated in the Country field in SA Company Setup. The ship to country is compared to the country specified in SA Company Setup.
In addition, the hold setting, Review International Sales, must be selected for the warehouse in Product Warehouse Description Setup-General.
When an order is entered into the system, two conditions are checked:
- The value in the order ShipTo's Country field in comparison to the value specified in the Country field in SA Company Setup.
- The setting of Review International Sales in Product Warehouse Description Setup.
This table shows a matrix of the values for the two conditions and whether the order is placed on hold, International Approve:
ICSD setting | Order Country not equal SASC country | Placed on International Approve |
---|---|---|
Yes | Yes | Yes |
Yes | No | No |
No | Yes | No |
No | No | No |
Each order is placed on hold if the country on the original order is changed or if a change is made at the line level. Back orders to a country other than your company country and quote conversions adopt the hold status of the order they originate from. These orders maintain their own hold status as they complete processing. Copied orders are re-evaluated by the system at the time they are copied.
If you try to ship an order on International export hold from Sales Shipping Feedback Entry, and error is displayed. Any line changes made in Sales Shipping Feedback Entry do not cause a hold code re-evaluation.
Your International export hold workflow can notify the designated reviewer of orders that are on international hold when you activate the OE International Hold event in SA Event Manager Activate Entry.
The reviewer can assess the order based on your export policies and release the order from hold. Reviewers can also retain the hold until certain conditions are verified.
