Using a One Time Sale to receive on account

You can receive money on a customer account (ROA) in Sales Order Entry for a One Time Sale, also known as instant payment. An instant payment is a tokenless credit card transaction.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. From More, select Receive on Account.
  3. Specify the Customer, Warehouse, and Taken By.
  4. In the Amount field, specify the amount of the payment.
  5. Click One Time Sale.
    If you are using the Credit Card Interface, this connects to the CenPOS web browser Sale form.
  6. Click OK to open a journal.
    In the Sale form, the User ID, Merchant ID, and Client ID are automatically populated based on login and information that you specified in Sales Order Entry.
  7. Complete all required fields:
    Card number
    Specify the credit card number. You can manually specify the number or, if you have a scanner device, you can swipe the card. The data stored on the magnetic stripe is used automatically populate the card number, expiration, and name fields.
    Expiration date
    Select the month and year noted on the credit card.
    Name on card
    Specify the name of the person authorized to use this credit card.
    Last four digits
    Specify the last four digits of the credit card number. This field is available when you swipe a card using a scanner device, and provides verification that the credit card is present during the setup or tendering process.
    Email
    Specify the email address of the cardholder.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. In the transaction receipt, click either of these options:
    • Done, if you do not want to print a receipt, or
    • Print, to print a receipt.
    An approval message is displayed: Card Approved ************<last four digits>.
    A payment message is displayed: Payment Posted, Order # 0000000 Has Been Created.
