Sales Order Fulfillment

You can use the Sales Order Fulfillment feature to automatically source line items on a single fulfillment order.

A fulfillment order is a type of blanket order. When you use a fulfillment order, you can automatically create stock orders to source the line items from multiple warehouses. The manual creation of tied purchase orders and warehouse transfers is not required for fulfillment orders.

In Sales Order Entry, you create a fulfillment order for the selling warehouse. For each line item, a list of potential sourcing warehouses is built. One or more sourcing warehouses is automatically selected from the Warehouse List for each line item, based on fulfillment rules.

If you have the security to override fulfillment order settings, you can change the selected warehouses and add warehouses to the list. You can also change the fulfillment rule on the order, which can affect warehouse selection.

To create the stock orders, you must submit the fulfillment order. You can review and edit the Warehouse List and other fulfillment-related settings on a fulfillment order in these functions before submission:

  • Sales Order Entry
  • Sales Order Fulfillment Inquiry

When you submit the order, you can apply these actions to the order:

  • Reprice line items
  • Recalculate the SM cost
  • Load the nonstock price/cost from the fulfillment line
  • Reset addons

If you do not apply an action, the related values that apply to the original fulfillment order are applied to the stock orders.

After you submit a fulfillment order, a stock order is created for every warehouse that was selected for the line items. The stock orders are referred to as tied fulfillment orders. The original fulfillment order moves the sales order stage of Canceled and the fulfillment stage of Submitted. A note that lists the tied fulfillment orders is attached to the original fulfillment order. You can use the Notes context application in Infor Ming.le to view the note.

Tied fulfillment orders are subject to standard invoicing processes. Optionally, consolidated invoicing can be used.

Feature activation and setup

Sales Order Fulfillment is activated in the Sales Order-Entry Settings window in SA Administrator Options. Fields that are related to this feature do not display if the feature is not activated.

Fulfillment rules and preferred warehouse lists are set up in Sales Order Fulfillment Setup. The rules, and the associated hierarchies, can be set up for the company, customers, and ship tos. The preferred warehouse lists are used to determine which warehouses are included in Warehouse Lists. The rules determine which warehouses are selected to source lines. The company-level rule also includes settings that pertain to consolidated invoicing and submission of fulfillment orders received through SX API.

The fulfillment rules and preferred warehouse lists are not required.

See Warehouse selection for tied fulfillment orders.

Customers and ship to use of order fulfillment is set up in Customer Setup and Customer Ship To Setup. Order fulfillment security for operators is set up in SA Operator Setup.

If you use BODs to transmit sales order information, you must enable extra fields on each BOD to include the fulfillment order data in the BOD.

If you receive sales orders through SX API, you must modify sxapiFullOrderMntV6 to create and update fulfillment orders. Contact your Infor Consulting Services representative for information.

Consolidated invoicing

Consolidated invoicing for Sales Order Fulfillment is activated in SA Administrator Options. The Billing Code setting determines the intervals at which consolidation occurs. A default Billing Code is specified in the Fulfillment Rule in Sales Order Fulfillment Setup. If a Fulfillment Rule is not set up, the default Billing Code is Shipped Completely.

Tied fulfillment orders that have not been paid through tendering or cash receipts are consolidated by the Sales Consolidated Invoice Report. The consolidated order number is determined by the tied fulfillment orders that are associated with a single fulfillment order.

If a floorplan customer is specified on a tied fulfillment order, the invoice cannot be consolidated for billing. The invoice is printed individually when the Sales Entry Invoice Processing Report is run.
