Pricing spreadsheet overview

WithPD Mass Maintenance Entry , you can export and import pricing set records, change information, and import the data to update pricing or rebate records. You can use the export and import features to receive pricing from your vendors and to update your own pricing data.

Export

You can export an entire product pricing set or a portion of an existing set from PD Mass Maintenance Entry to a spreadsheet, edit the records in Excel, and import them back into PD Mass Maintenance Entry to update pricing and rebate records.

Import

You can import an Excel spreadsheet to create a new set with new records. You can also import data you previously exported to Excel to update an existing product pricing set. Onlyy the first worksheet in the spreadsheet is imported. The import process stops when it encounters the first blank column or the first blank row. When you import fields that have numeric or decimal fields, they are imported exactly as they are displayed on the spreadsheet. If the spreadsheet does not contain a vendor number, or the vendor number is invalid, the vendor number specified when you created the set is used. Commas are accepted, but special formatting characters, such as $ or %, are not converted. These characters are imported exactly as they are displayed.

If you work with rebates on a spreadsheet, you must change the customer number in the spreadsheet before you import the files. If you are importing pricing records, you can import the records and change information, such as a different customer number. This is a quick way to create identical pricing records for another customer.

Template

A template is an Excel spreadsheet that contains all the column headers from PD Mass Maintenance Entry in the first row. You can use the template to enter new data manually or by copying data from another Excel spreadsheet. To transfer data created from an external source into PD Mass Maintenance Entry, the header fields on a spreadsheet must be identical to the column headers in PD Mass Maintenance Entry. If the column headers are incorrect, the data does not successfully import. You can create a spreadsheet template from PD Mass Maintenance Entry. Select the appropriate record type, export the data without selecting any rows, select the columns that pertain to the external data, and then populate the spreadsheet with the external data.
