Product Restriction Setup field descriptions

Use these fields to search for or create a product restriction record. Fields are presented in alphabetical order.

Brand

If you selected brand code as the restriction type, specify the brand that is restricted. The brands are validated against SA Table Code Values Setup.

Certificate/License ID

Specify the certificate or license associated with the restriction code. This is setting is used for searching only.

C/L Required

Select this option if the record you are searching for requires a certificate or license.

Customer #

Specify the customer to which this restriction record applies. This is setting is used for searching only.

Expired Active

Select this option if you are searching for a record that is active but has expired.

Expire Date

If you are searching for a record that has expired, specify a date range using this field and the To field.

Product

If you selected product as the restriction type, specify the product that is restricted. The product is validated against Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup. If a warehouse is specified, the product is validated against Product Warehouse Product Setup if a Product Setup record also exists.

Product Category

If you selected product category as the restriction type, specify the product category that is restricted. The product categories are validated against SA Table Code Values Setup.

Product Line

If you selected product line as the restriction type, specify the product line that is restricted. The product line is validated against Product Lines Setup. If a warehouse is specified, validation is first conducted against Product Lines Setup records with a warehouse and then against records without a warehouse. Either type of record is a valid product line.

This is an optional setting. You can leave this field blank and specify a vendor only to apply the restrictions against the vendor, instead of the vendor and a product line.

Product Price Type

If you selected product price type as the restriction type, specify the product price type that is restricted. The product price types are validated against SA Table Code Values Setup.

Restriction Code

Specify the restriction code that is on the record for which you are searching.

Restriction Override

Select this option if the Allow Restriction Override option on the restriction record you are searching for is set to Yes.

Restriction Type

Specify the type of restriction you are searching for or creating. The options displayed in this field depend on the product restriction types enabled in SA Admin Options > Products. You can enable product, product line, product category, product price type, and brand code.

Ship To

Specify the customer shipto to which the restriction applies. This is setting is used for searching only.

Start Date

Specify the date the product restriction begins.

Status

Select the status of the record you are searching for–Active or Inactive. Select All to search for both active and inactive records.

Vendor

If the restriction type is a product line, specify the ARP vendor for that product line. If you did not specify a product line, restrictions are only applied to the ARP vendor, instead of the ARP vendor and a product line. The vendor is validated against Vendor Setup, through which it is established as the ARP vendor for the product.

Warehouse

Specify the warehouse to which the restriction applies. This is an optional setting. This field is only displayed if the Allow Restrictions By Warehouse option in SA Admin Options > Products is selected.
