Viewing order line history

Use Sales Order Inquiry to research the sequence of events that transpired for the lines, and any suffixes on a sales order. This information includes any back orders created, quantity shipped, quantity ordered, and other historical data for the line item. This information is beneficial for orders that contain back ordered items or blanket releases. At a quick glance, you can tell the customer the status of the product and whether it has been shipped or invoiced.

Use these instructions to view the history of a sales order line:

  1. Select Sales > Inquiry > Order.
  2. Specify the order number and click Search.
  3. Drill down on the order in the grid to view its detail.
  4. In the Line Detail view, drill down on the line.
    • Select the Original Line History view to see the line as it was originally entered on the sales order and any back orders that were created.
    • Select the Actual Line History view to see the status of a line.
