Standard pack

This unit of measure (UOM) is helpful to the buyer. Your vendor may offer a price break or other incentive for ordering a full pallet, crate, container, or other standard pack of a product. Standard packs are used to automatically round ordering quantities to take advantage of the incentive or avoid broken-pallet charges.

For example, if a reel of wire is 250 feet and the ordering process suggests purchasing 400 feet,the purchase is rounded to 500 feet, or 2 reels, to avoid a charge for ordering an incomplete reel.

In Product Warehouse Product Setup, leave the Standard Pack field blank if it is not relevant to a product. The buying unit setting then determines the ordering quantity.
