Pricing modifiers' impact on price default hierarchy

A pricing record is selected during sales order entry based on the customer making the purchase, the product being purchased, or various combinations of the two. Only one pricing record is used at any time for any customer, product, vendor, or rebate. Although the existing price default hierarchy remains intact, the pricing modifier is available to adjust a product’s unit price. For example, if a product price is normally calculated at $10.00 and there is a pricing modifier attached to a qualifying PD Pricing Setup record that adjust the price by +1%, the new unit price is $10.10.

Creating a negative pricing modifier can cause issues with promotional priced items where the "best price” might not include the promotional price. Converted quotes that have a pricing modifier are repriced according to the customer’s current pricing hierarchy.
