Setting up serial and lot products

Use these instructions to set up serial and lot products.

  1. Select Product > Setup > Warehouse Product.
  2. To set up an existing warehouse product as a serial or lot product, click the drill down icon for the product. Click Edit and go to step 7.
  3. To set up a new warehouse product, click Create.
  4. Specify the product number you want to sell as a serial or lot product. This product must be set up in Product Setup.
  5. Specify the warehouse, and optionally, the vendor and product line.
  6. Click Create & Continue.
  7. Select Serial or Lot from the Control field. If creating a serial product, specify when the serial number should be assigned in the extended Control field. Your options areAO Dflt, Receive or Sales. If you select AO Dflt, the serial number assignment is based on the Assign Serial # During Receiving setting in SA Administrator Options-Products-Default-Receiving.
  8. Specify the information in the remaining fields.
  9. Click Save.
