Selling supersede and superseded products
- Select Sales > Entry > Order.
- Create or maintain a stock order.
- Specify a product and quantity.
-
If you specified a supersede product and inventory is available for
the superseded product, the Supersede
Availability window is displayed.
To sell the supersede product, return to the line entry, add the line to the order, and finish the order.
If the Sell Superseded First setting on a cross-reference record has a value, you might be required to sell the superseded product before you can sell the supersede product.
To sell the superseded product:
- Specify the quantity to order from a listed warehouse.
- If you selected quantity from another warehouse, specify the Order Type.
- Click Submit.
-
The warehouse transfer is automatically created and the
Sourcing view is
displayed. Verify the warehouse transfer information and then click Submit.
If you select stock from another warehouse, but there is quantity available for the superseded product in the current warehouse, the warehouse transfer is not created and the stock from the ordering warehouse is used.
- Add the line to the order and finish the order.
- If you specified a superseded product and the warehouse on the order has sufficient quantity available, add the line to the order, and finish the order.
-
If you specified a superseded product and the warehouse on the
order has insufficient quantity, the supersede product replaces the superseded
product in the
Product field.
If the superseded product is available in other warehouses, the Supersede Availability view is displayed.
If the product is superseded by multiple products that are within the same warehouse or other cross-referenced products are available, select the product to sell in the Cross Reference view.
- Click Add to add the line to the order.
- If you depleted the available inventory for the superseded product but still require product to meet the quantity ordered, add another line item for the supersede product.
- Finish the order.
