Back Order

Select this field if this group can be back ordered due to the lack of quantity on hand. If this field is selected for the group, you can modify the shipped quantity for components without changing the shipped quantity for the parent kit. The standard kit availability calculation is overridden, and a partial back order is created for this component. The components that are not back ordered are shipped. The back ordered components are shipped when they are available.

Component Product

Specify the product to include in the group. The product must be set up in Product Setup.

Group Name

Specify a name for the group. We recommend using a name that descriptively identifies the group of products.

National Program

Select this option if this component of the kit qualifies for a National Program.

Price

Select this field to include the component price in the price of the kit. This should also be referred to during Sales Order Entry when you are rolling up the price of a kit when you sell the kit.

Print

Select this field to print the kit group on documents, such as order acknowledgments, pick tickets, bid worksheets, invoices, and bid preparation proposals. These documents may be printed if this group is part of a build-on-demand kit. The group is listed on invoices if the List on Invoice option is selected in Product Setup. Pre-built kit components are not listed on invoices, order acknowledgments, bid proposals or pick tickets. Kit groups are always listed on the work order.

Clear this field if you do not want to list the group on documents. Note that the group and reference information for build-on-demand kits always prints on pick tickets, regardless of this setting.

Quantity Needed

Specify the standard group quantity needed to build the kit. You must specify a positive number.

If this is a variable quantity, specify a standard quantity needed and select the Variable field. Items with a variable quantity are those that may change each time the kit is sold. For example, a group may include a water hose where the length of the hose may vary from one group to another. Although the same hose is always used, the required length may change.

Reference

Specify relevant reference information for the group. References may be assembly directions, cautions, explanations, or other information to help the customer or picker assemble the kit.

Reference records allow you to insert reference text by adding text to the group at any point in the assembly list.
