Setting up environmental handling fees

Use Product Environmental Handling Fees Setup to create and maintain a product-level environmental handling fee (EHF). Use this function to associate a product with the appropriate addon number created in SA Order Entry Addon Setup, to specify the amount of the EHF, and to specify the geographical location of the governmental entity requiring the fee. This set up is required for an EHF to be added to a sales order and calculated properly.

  1. Select Product > Setup > Product Environmental Handling Fees.
  2. Click Create.
  3. In Product, specify a product. The product must already be set up in Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup.
  4. In Amount, specify the amount per unit of measure of the EHF. The unit of measure default is defined in Product Setup or Product Catalog Setup.
  5. In Province/State, specify the geographical location in which the EHF originates from. The location must be set up in SA Sales Use Tax Setup or SA Goods and Services Tax Setup.
  6. In Addon #, specify the addon number assigned to this product in SA Order Entry Addon Setup. The State/Province value for this addon in SA Order Entry Addon Setup must either be blank, which means all states or provinces, or match the state/province specified for the EHF fee being setup in Product Environmental Handling Fees Setup. If not, an error is displayed: Addon Not an Environmental Handling Fee for This Province/State (6981).
  7. In Start Date, specify the date that the fee became effective.
  8. Optionally, in End Date, specify the date that the fee expires. The value must be blank or greater than/equal to the Start Date.

Used in combination with the order date, the most current start date that has not expired is used for the calculation of the fee.

  9. Optionally, specify an EHF Type. The EHF Type is free-form entry with no validation. Use this field for informational purposes only to help identify the type of fee applicable to this product. For example, paint, light bulbs, or electronics.
  10. Optionally, set up User Fields. These user-defined fields are not processed or updated by Distribution SX.e. You can set up EHF-related user-defined fields in SA Administrator Options-System-User Fields.
  11. Click Save.
