Approving a sales order that is on hold

If you use legacy hold codes, you can approve an order in Sales Order Entry that is on hold. Optionally, you can apply a hold to an approved order or change the existing hold code to another hold code. The hold codes that you can use depends on your operator security.

To change the hold status, you must have access to Approval field. By default, the field is available on the Customer Order Settings page. To use these instructions, you must use personalization to add the Approval field to the Maintain page in Sales Order Entry.

Note: This functionality is part of an approval process that helps to meet requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Use these instructions to approve a sales order that is on hold.

  1. Select Sales > Entry > Order.
  2. Click Maintain, and then specify the order number.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Specify Y in the Approval field.
  5. Click Next, and then click Finish.
