Adjusting usage for seasonal products

You can use the seasonal trending demand calculation to adjust the usage for seasonal products that experience unusually early or late seasonal activity. Use these instructions to set the correct parameters to apply the seasonal trending factor:

  1. Select Product > Setup > Replenishment.
  2. Select a record and click Edit.
  3. On the Usage view, specify Yes in the Use Seasonal Trending field. Click Save.
  4. Select Product > Setup > Warehouse Product.
  5. Select the seasonal product and click Edit.
  6. In the Usage section of the Ordering view, specify Trend % in the Method field.
  7. To set the number of usage months at the product level, specify the number of Months and then select the Frozen option. Click Save. Go to step 11.
  8. To set the number of usage months based on product ranking, return to Product Replenishment Setup. On the Ranking view for the record, verify the usage months for each rank. Click Save if you make any changes.
  9. In the Seasonal Trending Demand section on the Usage view, specify the desired settings and click Save. Go to step 13.
  10. Select Product > Setup > Warehouse Product.
  11. Select the seasonal product, click Edit, and then specify the desired settings in the Trending Demand section on the Ordering view. Click Save.
  12. At month end, run the Product Administration Month End Processing Report to merge files and update ordering controls.
  13. Select Product > Administration > Exception Center.
  14. Click Exception Selection and the select Seasonal Trending – Min/Max Exceeded. Click OK.
  15. Specify additional search criteria and then click Search. The products whose seasonal trend percentage fell below the minimum percentage or above the maximum and were adjusted are displayed.
  16. Select a record in the grid. On the Exceptions view, a list of exceptions for this product is displayed. Select a record and click Show Detail to view more detail. Click OK when you are finished.
  17. Make any necessary changes to the ordering controls on the Ordering view. Click Update to save your changes. Any changes made to ordering controls update the Product Warehouse Product Setup-Ordering record.
  18. To override usage, access the Usage History view. Expand the record for the appropriate month and click Edit. Specify the Override Usg amount, click Save, and then click Update to save your changes.
