Adjusting usage for stocked-out products

Products that are stocked out for 15 days or more are frozen when you run the Product Administration Month End Processing Report, unless you set options to adjust usage automatically. Use these instructions to adjust usage automatically and not freeze the product. To freeze 15-day stock-out products, refer to the ranges and options descriptions for the Product Administration Month End Processing Report.

  1. Verify that a stock-out override usage reason is set up in SA Table Code Value Setup.
  2. Select Product > Setup > Replenishment.
  3. Select the company, warehouse, vendor or product line record, whichever is appropriate.
  4. In the Stock Out Usage Control section of the Usage view, click Edit.
  5. Select Yes for the Fix 15 days Stock Out exception option. Specify a stock-out override reason. Click Save.
  6. At the end of the month, run the Product Administration Month End Processing Report, merging files and updating ordering controls.
  7. Select Product > Administration > Exception Center.
  8. Specify the override usage reason in the Reason field and then click the Exception Selection button.
  9. Select Fifteen Day Stock Out Corrected and click OK.
  10. Click Search. Any products that experienced a 15-day stock-out situation are listed.
  11. Select a record in the grid.
  12. On the Exceptions view, select an exception and click Show Detail. Review the explanation for the exception and any data that is displayed on the exception detail window. Click OK.
  13. To adjust ordering controls, select the Ordering view. To review and possibly override usage, select the Usage History view. Click Update to save any changes.
