Property pane

The property pane displays the properties for the item that is currently selected in the menu pane.
Note: Only those properties that are appropriate for the currently selected item are displayed. For functions only the icon property can be changed, all other properties are read-only. If different properties for functions are required, new function extensions can be created within User Manager.

Common Properties for all Menu Items

  • Name

The name field allows you to translate a word. For example if your log in is set to a language different to that set when the field was named in the System Language Name field, you can enter the translated word or term. You can leave this field blank, in which case the system language name is used.

  • System Language Name

If a name is not set in the system for a language, the system uses the value in the System Language Name field. The blue star indicates this field cannot be left blank. This field is automatically named when you create a new menu tab, and this name is used if you leave the name field blank. This field increments by one for each menu tab created.

  • Type

Indicates the type of menu item.

  • Icon

The icon that is used to represent the menu item. Icons can be changed by clicking Change Icon and selecting a different icon.

Additional Properties for Functions and Shortcuts

  • Function Code

A shortcut code for the menu item.

  • System Language Function Code

A system language shortcut code for the menu item. If a code is not set in the system for a language, the system uses the value in the System Language Code field.

Additional Properties For Functions Only

  • Function Identifier

    The SunSystems internal function ID.

  • Form Name

The name of the SunSystems form you want to use for this function. You must enter a name if you want a specific form on the server to be invoked, or if the form currently resides on the client machine, that is, a locally compiled form. However, if you leave this blank, SunSystems automatically opens the form for this function. When there is more than one form for the function, SunSystems prompts you to select a form during run-time.

  • Actual Budget

A budget code, if required, for example A-Actual.

  • Business Unit

The code of the business unit to be used with this function. If you leave this blank, SunSystems prompts the user to select a business unit when the function is activated from SunSystems.
