Overview of Infor SunSystems

Infor SunSystems financial software is a complete ledger accounting system. All ledger data, including the general ledger, the sales and purchase ledger, and the receivables and payables ledger, is combined into a single ledger. This enables easy access to detailed data, and efficient reporting across all transactions. No reconciliation is required because all transactions are posted simultaneously to the same data set.

SunSystems is designed for international organizations, complex operations and fast-growing companies. It is used extensively by multinational corporations whose subsidiaries worldwide require an international product with a global support infrastructure. This list describes the main attributes of SunSystems functionality:

Flexible business support

SunSystems can meet an organization's evolving accounting and reporting requirements, whatever the functional requirement, process, or deployment need.

Global support

Business units can be configured as separate locales that include a base currency, chart of accounts, and business rules, to meet local requirements. Alternative multiple companies can be supported within a single business entity.

SunSystems provides multi-lingual support. These core languages are included, although other languages are available: Brazilian-Portuguese, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish.

Multiple currencies are supported. For each transaction, four currency dimensions are supported: transaction currency (variable); base currency (fixed per business unit); reporting currency (fixed per business unit); and fourth currency (variable). "Variable" means that the fourth currency code may vary line by line with the ability to address more detailed requirements.

Local statutory compliance is supported.

Flexible accounting structures

Multiple charts of accounts can be maintained for each business unit, making it easy to apply different reporting perspectives to the same financial transactions and facilitating acquisitions.

Different accounting periods can be created and transactions reaggregated to them.

Reporting and analysis

Through extensive capture of business data, multi-dimensional analysis can be undertaken, providing high levels of management information, and the ability to drill down into transactional data to individual details.

Order Fulfilment modules

Modules for Order Fulfilment processes include requisitioning, purchasing, sales order processing, and inventory management.

Infor OS (Operating Service)

Infor OS is used by SunSystems to improve financial processes by using workflows, alerts, and mobile connectivity.

Infor Document Management (IDM) enables organizations to store and retrieve in-context information to use with SunSystems functions, such as bank statements against the bank account, supporting documents for ledger postings, or contracts against supplier records.

Integrations

The core product can be integrated with specific vertical market products. Infor ION enables SunSystems to connect with both Infor and third-party applications, services, and data sources.

Infor Query & Analysis (Q&A)

Infor Q&A is a powerful, ad-hoc querying and analysis tool. It can exchange data with SunSystems in real-time, and enables users to build their own reports in Microsoft Excel.
